On Utopias

Eastern Europe has been tricked into distrusting the existence of an alternative modernity, dooming itself to decades of forever emerging and catching up. As we cease to want to become a mere New West anymore, a pressing challenge ensues: to create viable counter narratives that can replace powerlessness and disorientation with a new futurology of the East. We need to proclaim the end of the end of history, to reclaim the future, and to start building. We ultimately end up asking ourselves: Is there room for utopia after utopia?
