DAMN°91 explores Interconnectivity & Stewardship, not as ownership or control but as the act of tending. To pay attention to what connects us rather than what divides us. To understand design not only as production but as a metabolism, a way of caring for materials, ideas, and each other. The challenge today is not to invent more stuff, but to look again at what already exists and find ways to keep it alive.
We open with openstructures who we invited to create the Artist Pages. Their modular system OpenStructures has never been about a single object, but about the infrastructures that allow objects to relate. A hinge-sized hole pattern might seem minor, but it stands in for something larger: the possibility that design can operate through shared agreements rather than individual authorship. Beginning the magazine this way is a way of setting a perspective — looking at design as a network of dependencies rather than a series of isolated results.
